Perennials are plants that are winter hardy in our area such as Hostas, Clematis, and Rudbeckias and herbs like Thyme, oregano and lavender.  They generally die back in the winter and re-sprout from the same roots the following year.  They are often considered the backbone of your flowerbeds because they return year after year and give your gardens a framework to add to each spring.   With a few exceptions, perennials usually bloom for about 4 to 6 weeks which makes them perfect to pair with annuals that bloom all summer.  The Dutch Plant Farm offers hundreds of varieties of perennials including hard to find and native varieties. We can show you which varieties are best to attract butterlies, bees or hummingbirds.   If we don’t have it, we will try our best to find it for you!  We receive weekly trucks with fresh perennials from March through October.  Please call to check weekly availability.
